City Park is bordered by 23rd Avenue to the North, Colfax Avenue to the South, Colorado Boulevard to the East, and York Street to the West. 

Denver’s City Park neighborhood includes its namesake park, the Denver Zoo, and the Denver Museum of Nature & Science.  City Park attracts tourists and locals alike with these key attributes, in addition to an 18-hole championship golf course, three lakes, and a wide variety of events at the City Park Pavilion, including the City Park Jazz concerts.

There are a variety of urban developments in City Park, which also includes City Park West located just west of the park and known to many as “Uptown.”  Other attractions include the East High School Esplanade and the historic site of the Shakespeare Elm which was grown from a scion taken from a tree taken at Shakespeare’s grave at Stratford-on-Avon in England.  There is also a boat house that can be rented for special events.

City Park contains several historic brick residential buildings, including many Denver Square homes and several historic commercial structures along Colfax Avenue.  City Park has become a popular area with many hip restaurants, stores, and a variety of businesses.  The area has also seen new residential and commercial developments, including the former site of Mercy Hospital.
